We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the O'Connell family on the sad passing of Fr. Phil. We were very fond of him and always loved meeting him. He had a wonderful sense of humour and was a truly kind and gentle person. May God rest his soul in peace.

and all the West Cork O' Connor cousins were very fond, grateful and proud of Fr. Philip. I have lovely memories of a number of visits with him in recent years in Tralee and Ballylongford.

Condolences to the O' Connell family on the passing of Fr Phil. I knew Fr Phil for a long time from the Comp to his time as parish priest in Bally. He was a nice plesent man and great company to be in. One day playing golf with the Bally society he finished up in a bunker up near the lip. I said to him best of luck getting out of there. I'll get out of there no problem he said, got into the bunker and threw the ball out on the fairway. RIP Fr Phil.
