Condolences and deepest sympathies to all Fr Tom’s family and friends.

I met Tom first 1976, then as a bright red-head mechanical-electrical engineer, and all before he was ordained and before his passion for writing took off. He had an infectious and lifelong conviction for spreading St Josemaría’s message of finding holiness and happiness in sanctifying everyday life. Most friendly, most congenial, with a very sharp intellect, he was someone eager to understand, befriend and engage with others. I also remember from a few instances how persuasive he was when it came to winning people over in situations which might otherwise have been a little confrontational. An 'always-available’ priest, he was a great spiritual guide and a wonderful and incisive preacher, who brimmed with an over-flowing love for Christ and Mary. Fr Tom’s unwavering lively faithfulness to his vocation was inspiring. It’s an underlying trait that just flows from his wonderful writings, much of which are aimed at bringing to light the great fruitfulness which flowed from the deep fidelity of others to their Christian calling.

Suaimneas sioraí do. Ar dheis láimh Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.

Our paths crossed in the early 1970s. I found him a kind and compassionate priest, a fellow son of Sligo. May his soul enjoy the company of his God,whom he served so well. Poor health keeps me his funeral but I want his family and friends to know that I am deeply sorry for their loss.
