Sincere condolences to the Spiritan Community and to Sr. Kathleen on Fr. Tony's death. I got to know him when he began to assist at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel and later when he began to present at the Chapel his courses on coping with the aftermath of suicide. At that time, he also became a valued Member of the Chapel's Life In The Eucharist Team. He certainly fought the good fight, especially in his heroic efforts to keep food and medical supplies supplied to the people of Nigeria/Biafra, and to their Missionary carers, one of whom was my aunt. May his dear soul rest in peace now.
— Mary Keane

Sad to hear of the passing of Tony Byrne. He was one my Dad's (Richard/Dick Holbrook) best friends from Cabra. Our paths crossed every so often when my father was alive. He performed the marriage ceremony for my sister Catherine and her husband Tony. We had a very interesting conversation about the world as I drove him to the reception. He was ahead of his time and will be missed.

In an era

In an unstable world, Tony Byrne was a beacon of hope and love. I never met anybody else nor will I in the future who actually saved millions of lives. As the lovely priest said at his removal, Tony was a “DOER”. When he returned from the Missions, Sr Cathleen and himself organised courses to help people who experienced workplace conflict , bullying in the workplace, and harmony in the home. Between them they enlightened tens of thousands and brought peace to many of us.
Tony was a Cabra man and lived a good part of his life there.
We are very proud of him. My sympathies to all who were close to him.
May Tony rest in peace.
— James and Mary Jackman, Cabra and Castleknock
