Uncle Wally has been our family's connection to our Irish family heritage in both Rhodesia and here in Western Australia. He married us and our chidren, but more than that he was our friend and part of the fabric of our lives especially for Joan, his sister and our departed mother. We will miss him deeply.

Your passing Wally brought back great memories of Freetown. As your forward hand on the GP14 yacht we had a lot of fun. Your colleagues there did admire my courage on the boat--took some unusual courses at times. Your success with finding crippled locals in the bush and supplying them with crutches --provided by a Dutch charity--was commendable. Then off to Australia as a flying priest--not a surprise.

So glad we met up with you Wally.
