Fr Liam Shore was a much loved assistant priest at St Brigid's church, Cardiff. when I decided to convert from my Anglican faith to Roman Catholicism in early 1985 and was my mentor in the preceding months. Fr Shore's gentility and deep faith convinced me that I was making the right decision. Although, shortly before my reception into the Catholic church, Fr Shore was appointed Parish Priest of St Cuthbert's in the docks area of Cardiff where he raised an amazing amount of money for the poor of that parish and its school, with his incredible charity walks both locally and abroad, we still maintained contact until his return to Ireland but never far from my thoughts. My most treasured possession is the silver figure of Christ on a wooden cross gifted me from Fr Shore on the occasion of my reception into the Catholic faith at St Brigid's on 19th July 1985, which has always remained in prime position on the wall of my hall and which reminds me every morning to say thank you to God for that day. But also to say thank you to Fr Liam for your diligence and patience in leading me in the right direction. Rest in Peace now Fr Liam and may Perpetual Light shine upon you.

Dear Father Liam Shore, I’m so very saddened to hear about your passing. With disbelief and shock I was also flooded with memories of you. I remember as an altar boy serving at St. Cuthbert's with you. I still have wonderful memories of you, both on the altar and outside. I remember seeing you again after many years, my hand held out to shake yours, but you disregarded my hand in favour of a long hug, underpinned with smiles and laughter, which continued with us holding each other in conversation. Father Shore, was a most wonderful, humble and gracious person.
I was so fortunate that he was a great friend to the Kelly family. My father Brendan and mother Kitty were especially fond of him.
He had a wonderful sense of humour, I always smiled when he was visiting our home.
He most definitely will be missed.
I’m sure he will be in Heaven, enjoying a warm welcome from my parents and all his other friends and family who are no longer with us .
I am so very sorry that he is no longer with us.

He had a good heart and always had time for everyone relatives friends of other residents. He loved a chat and doing activities especially playing bingo but would give out if other residents would win and he didn't saying the game was fixed. It was our absolute pleasure to have him in our care. May he rest in peace 🙏 . He will be sadly missed by everyone here in the nursing home.
