Our deepest sympathies on the passing of Fr Pat a great man on a new road.
Death Is Nothing At All
By Henry Scott-Holland more Henry Scott-Holland
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Fr Pat, a man who touched so mant people's lives and hearts. A joy to have studied with Pat in our small group of 4 in Mount Oliver 86/87. A genuine and holy man-i lionta Dé go gcastar sinn.
Dear Mike and Jacintha and all the family, Sadly we lost touch with you and we had only recently made contact again with Pat on his blog. I wrote there of my memories of my unforgettable holiday with him - the holy wells, the bog, John B Keane reciting W B Yeats to us in the pub in Listowel, the home masses, John Moriarty reading to us some of his writing in Killarney, the Irish culture evening, the Harry Clarke windows in the convent at Dingle, and so much more. Our son Charles had an equally memorable holiday with Pat. What a delightful, thoughtful,
kind man. We look forward to reading his book. And we share your sadness at your loss.
We are now in our second retirement at 29 Sandhill Way, Aylesbury, HP19 8GU. Email: barry.o22@virgin.net

Deepest sympathy, love and prayers to all Padraig's family and to those who journeyed with him especially Sr. Kathleen. A priest devoted to his priesthood and who grappled with profound truths has now got all the answers! His book, 'Weathering A Storm' gave us all some insight into his soul, heart and mind' and is one of his many legacies to the Church and to the people he served.
God rest his noble and generous soul.

Sincere sympathy to all Fr Pat's family and friends. I had the honour of sharing my love of poetry with him and I am convinced that he will continue to inspire us all in our journey through life. He is freer now more than ever he was. He weathered his storm excellently and is a marvellous example to us all.
