Have only now heard the sad news on my return from holidays. Sincere condolences to Frank and to the rest of the McMahon family.
As a teenager I remember my Uncle Michael dropping over for lunch. Donned in a leather jacket and wearing a flat cap, he was well bronzed for an Irish man and his voice was calm and measured, authoritative but charming. As cool as could be, our own Indiana jones back from Africa. They were good times!
Of course we were excited to see you, and we revelled in your accounts of Kenya, but it was always a two-way catch up. You were a great uncle; always so patient and happy to hear us out, discerning and sage with all your advice including those all important life lessons. But it was your intelligent humour and generosity of spirit that I will miss most.
The McMahons have lost a mighty man. Thank you for everything contributed to our family. Rest in Peace - Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

RIP Uncle Michael 🙏
Condolences to Ann , Eileen ,Frank , Brian & Kevin on the loss of a Dear Brother
My late Father John was particularly close to Michael , he celebrated his Funeral Mass which for us was very special and emotional
We have fond Memories as Kids of collecting Michael from the Airport on his return home from his beloved Kenya
He would speak in Swahili to make us all laugh
Many Family events & Holidays over the years , he had a lovely calm and spiritual aura , he was unfortunate to have ill health in his belated retirement
At peace now , many years of service teaching , mentoring and dedication over
Rest in Peace , love Una X

Deepest sympathy to the McMahon family on the passing of Fr Michael .. A lovely soft spoken man .. may he RIP ..
Fr Michael was a very special person. I knew him & his family before he ever joined “The Holy Ghost Fathers” as they were called then. I was his sister Ann’s best school friend & enjoyed his mother’s kind hospitality at their Hardware Shop & Home on Clonliffe Road, on our return from Holy Faith School in Dominick St (now gone). We were not
altogether surprised when he announced he was going for priesthood as he was a particularly goodlooking and kind person, and some of us younger girls fancied him as a very desirable prospective boyfriend /husband😍. However
Michael had made up his own mind that priesthood was his special vocation🙏 Very happy to say we kept up our
unique friendship throughout the years, and was happy to be there for him during the last two years when he had to return from his beloved Kenya due illness. He longed to return to Kenya to his people, and it broke his heart that he was
unable to do so. I am so happy that he is now with the good Lord, and reunited with his dear mother & father, brother
John & extended deceased family members. May he have eternal rest and the Peace ☮️ he richly deserves🙏.
