Dear Marie, Kieran, Cian and all of Rhona’s family. We are truly heartbroken to hear of the loss of your beautiful daughter and sister. It is uplifting to read the tributes to her. We know now that she was an amazing person and a credit to you all. We were unfortunate not to know her though we kept her in our prayers over recent months. As classmates in DCU, Rhona did her best to keep me on the straight and narrow - particularly during our time on Erasmus in Paris. She was a natural teacher. Incredibly diligent and intelligent.

I worked with Rhona at Google. She was an incredibly bubbly, bright and friendly girl. I am so incredibly sorry to hear of her passing. There are no words for such a heartbreaking loss and my thoughts are with her family.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear about Rhona's untimely passing. I have so many fond memories of time spent with her both in DCU, socially in our early 20s and during our time abroad in Paris living and studying in 2004/05. Rhona was a very special and kind person who motivated us all both personally and academically during those college years. I distinctly remember her cooking skills in the communal kitchen in Paris, the importance of her phone calls home to her family and her love for her hair diffuser! I was so pleased to hear she got into teaching later and can only imagine how her kindness radiated through the many students she taught. On behalf of the DCU Applied Languages class of 2006 as well as the Paris Erasmus group of 2004/05 I would like to send my sincere condolences to all her family. Ar dheis dé go raibh a hanam dilis.

I've had Ms Dargle as a french teacher for three years and I wouldn't have picked french for Leaving Cert if it weren't for her, truly one of the best teachers I've ever had. I really enjoyed her lessons and she would always have a smile on her face which made me feel safe in her class. We would occasionally have conversations after class related to french and she would always give me advice on how to improve my french pronunciation and how to overcome my anxiety when presenting in front of the class. She's always been super nice to me and helpful. Important loss in my life and on behalf of my family our deepest condolences to her family, friends and colleagues, may she rest in peace.

When I started working in St Kevin’s, I was nervous about going in to the staff room. But I met Rhona, and she said “Sit with me”. She always spoke so fondly of Ger and her beloved Ethan, who was her only baby at the time. She was so kind, funny and sweet. As guidance counsellor, I meet students one to one and I have heard from them how much they enjoyed her lessons and how great a teacher she was. We will miss her. Sending love to all of her family, I am so sorry for your loss.

We have a candle lit all day today in St Mary's Secondary School beside a photo of Rhona. She was a past pupil of the school and a former PME student of Languages (2017). I am heartbroken to learn about Rhona’s passing.

I met Rhona on our first day studying Applied Languages in DCU. I was drawn to her big smile and bubbly personality. She introduced me to lots of new friends, and from that day the gang was formed. We had a ball those years in DCU. I remember her beautiful curls, the sparkle in her eye, her beaming smile, her denim jacket, her fun and ever positive personality, and her love of tea and purple snack bars.

Even as a college student it was clear that family was everything to Rhona and I always knew she would make a terrific mum some day. I am so devastatingly sad that the life she longed for and deserved so much was taken from her at such a young age.

Rest in peace beautiful Rhona with your darling baby Alex, both of you eternally young. xxx

We worked together at Google and I have a strong memory of a night we got stuck in Gatwick Airport until midnight and spent hours chatting. She was full of love for her family and her new love Ger, and our chat really inspired me to think about what matters most. Rhona and I first connected in a December babies group we both joined and we ended up being in labour at the same time after months and months of chatter during pregnancy. Her beautiful Ethan was born, and we attended baby sensory classes and had cups of tea to ward off tiredness! She was always there at the end of a message no matter what time, and she will be remembered for that companionship throughout our pregnancies and into parenthood. Heart goes out to Ger, Ethan and Matty, ye meant the world to her. May you rest in peace Rhona and thank you x
