We are very sad to learn, belatedly, of Richard’s passing.
Over many years he played a big part in (the never ending!) makeovers of our former home in The Paddocks, Dalkey and always responded quickly to our call outs, day or night.
We remember the countless, lively chats over tea in the kitchen and his interest in cooking - once arriving with a whole fillet of venison which he proceeded to marinate in yogurt before putting it in the fridge.
It was easy to see that he was a devoted Dad and that Jonathan and Naomi were the lights of his life.
A one off and a great character.

We would like to sympathise with you over the loss of one great individual.
Our great memories are numerous. From fishing at the Moulditch bouy off Greystones for ray and cod to the trips to Clare island where we caught not a lot but the food and drink were super and numerous other episodes.
Its sad to see a legend leaving us but he left us great memories.

We are all so sorry for your loss. What an amazing, kind and generous man Richard was…..we will all miss him. No one will ever make a better meringue or pot of jam! The best god father and family friend anyone could ask for……sleep well Richard

Jonathon and Naomi, sorry to hear about Richard's passing, he was a great character and so obliging. Remembering when he brought little Jonathon along with him from the time he was very young :) He wired our house in Drimnagh, and big studios with all the Galvanised gear before that!

We send our sincerest condolences to Richard's family on his sad passing. Richard was a good and generous neighbour of ours in Blackrock. Unfortunately we can't make it to his funeral as we are out of Dublin but our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

So very sorry Jonathan, Naomi, Rachel & Kaitlin to hear of the sad passing of your dad & granddad Richard. We got to meet him many years ago when he did some work for us & he was always very obliging & helpful.
