Very sorry to hear the news that Richard is no longer with us .I worked for Richard in IRC he changed the style of management from the dated style of management by fear to one of let's exceed our targets and lets have fun while doing so and we did both . I'm very sorry for his family but I know I'm a better person thanks to Richard .

My wife and I met Richard during a visit to Connemara nearly 40 years ago and played golf at Old Conna and elsewhere across Ireland and at my home course, Hazeltine, in the States. We always looked forward to his newsy Christmas cards, talking about his parents, the state of his golf game and how Old Conna was faring. He was a lovely, gentle friend - and will be greatly missed by his friends in the States. R.I.P., Richard.
I AM SO SADDENED TO HEAR OF THE UNTIMELY PASSING , OF DICK. A GENTLEMAN, AND A TRUE ROCK, AND ROLLER. HE ASKED ME WOULD I PLAY IN HIS BAND [APTLY NAMED OUT OF BOUNDS ].I IMMEDIATELY SAID YES .HE GAVE ME A LIST OF SONGS TO LEARN ,ALL GREAT SONGS , I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT ,ESPECIALLY AFTER HEARING THE NAMES OF THE GREAT MUSICIANS ,THAT WERE IN THE BAND .ALAS, IT WAS NEVER TO BE.I HAVE KNOWN DICK FOR THE LAST 40 PLUS YEARS , HE HAD A GREAT VOICE ,AND , WHEN WE WOULD MEET IT WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO SWAP STORIES OF OUR VARIOUS ESCAPADES .I STILL HAVE SOME GREAT VIDEO OF HIM ,PREFORMING . Sincere condolences to the O’Leary family on Dick’s passing. Dick excelled in several ways. Not only was he a fine golfer, but he also was talented at music. We often had a chat about his favourite cars - one of which he really enjoyed was his own Jaguar. A really genuine and pleasant character. He will be sadly missed in Old Conna.
So sad to hear of Dicks passing. He was a lovely man. From The Harbour Bar in our youth to meeting him again in Cairnhill not too long ago when visiting his beloved Mum. Always smiling and delightful to meet. God Bless you Dick. Taken way to soon.
Dick was a true gentleman who helped both of us in our careers. He was a thinker about golf and will be missed from the course and clubhouse.RIP

Shocked to hear this news Teresa, so sorry for your loss. I will always remember those glorious summer holidays in Bray and our cousin Dick would call over with his guitar. We have so many super memories like playing Pontoon (Blackjack). May he rest in peace.

We are deeply saddened to learn of Dick's death. He was a great friend over many years, from our earliest school days together in Kilmacanogue to our many trips to Killarney at Easter.
