My sincere condolences to the family and very close friend. I wish you peace and kindness during this sad time of sorrow. Rest in peace Richard.
What a great life, of painting ~ to the end, with joy and courage. A man of wit, kindness and humour. Hard to forget the sparkle in his eyes and the pleasure of his company.

Thinking of Richard and the many wonderful memories we have of times spent together in Dublin, Connemara, Milan, Paris and adventures on the water in Aughris Bay! Always a source of inspiration! Our sympathies to all, with love, Mo, Celia, Caroline, Katharine and Richard
I’m so sorry to hear this news. Richard was wonderful in every way - his art, his humour, his grace and elegance- memories of such fun times in the early days of CCI Paris. Sleep well, Richard.
I’m so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. Such a wonderful artist and one of nature’s true gentlemen. He had a great sense of humour and it was always fun to be in his company. He will be missed.

So terribly sad to hear about Richard’s death. I suspect gentleman and gentle person will be repeated by many as Richard imbued grace and kindness despite suffering through an illness for such a long while. A hugely important Irish artist who gave his all and packed so much beauty into his last chapter which was astounding to witness. Richard had a lively bright spirit with a wonderful quirky sense of humour which was the highlight of any gathering he was a part of. He will be missed by so many people he touched in his life. May he RIP.
Richard was a gentleman.

A great companion in all circumstances. A dear friend. A great artist, printer and painter. The quirkiest humour in any human being. The oddest taste in music ever!
My deepest condolences and sympathies to his family.
