Mrs Major, sorry to hear of your loss. I have great memories of Richard from the 1980s when I and my family were frequent visitors to his opticians. When I first tried contact lenses, he was so patient to give me time to get used to them in his consulting room before allowing me home. If not for him, I doubt if I could have managed wearing them. A real gentleman.

My heartfelt sympathies to Auntie Noel, Richard, Dicks nieces tyleen & Christianne, his grandchildren simon, laura, aj & richard, great grandkids, his friends and collegues throughout his lifetime .Generosity is the word that springs to mind when i think of Dick..In so many areas of his life he gave generously with an open heart. From spurs season tickets, gifts to family and friends, donations to organisations, large discounts on glasses to family and friends ☻, christmas cakes and puddings he made specially each year.The list goes on ,but he also gave of his time with great enthusiasm to youth training in clonmel and his beloved church in Fethard ,to name just two. He was an integral part of the Cassells and McCormack families over the years..Especially kind to granny and grandad Cassells his in-laws..He was responsible for my one and only A+ in english when he composed a poem for a first year xmas project..Thank you so much you for the great childhood memories. May your gentle soul rest in peace.

So sorry that my dear Uncle has passed away. He was my father’s closest sibling and my nearest Uncle. I always loved, admired and respected him.
