So sad to learn of Richard's passing. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Sheila, Carmel, Margaret & the extended Mulcahy & Mannix families. We have many great memories of Richard; one that stand out is with Bartlemy Macra in the National Final of Light Entertainment in 1986, doing a commentary on a live show jumping sketch on the stage of the Cork Opera House. It was just sheer class from a genius at work. Richard had a great sense of humour, could also be sincere, and will be sadly missed by his family, the locality and further a field. Richard, Rest in Peace.

So sorry for your loss. Richard taught me a lot about the fundamentals of camera operation at racing, whether at local point to point meetings to the bigger stages during what was a quick learning curve when I started out in the industry. Never short of a quip or a comment, he was fun to be around and at the same time was a person who demanded the same standards he set for his own work. The lessons he taught me all those years ago have stood me in good stead since. Rest easy agus suaimhneas síoraí Richard.

Richard was part of our family since the mid 70's. Mam and Richard enjoyed each others company, sharing good times & problems over the cup of tea & cigarette. Richard had an amazing talent of putting people at ease & in good form. Richard's pleasant dignified voice, efficiently informed the attentive racegoers of the breed and seed of each trainer, Jockey and horse, over the decades in every park meeting and ptp througout Ireland. His eloquent voice is irreplaceable as are the pleasant memories we have of Richard. May heaven be his bed with his parents & loved ones.
