So sorry to hear the news.... Dick was a big inspiration for me in my choice of work.....and I will always remember holidays with him and family in the 1980s Kerry or Connemara.
Deepest sympathy to the O'Keeffe family on Richard's passing. I worked closely with Richard about 40 years ago and was privileged to witness his admirable work in bringing about many improvements in Ireland's psychiatric hospitals. His empathy and concern for vulnerable people was exemplary. He didn't know it but I learned a lot from him. May Richard rest in peace.
Comhbhrón ó chroí le Ian agus Aoibheann agus leis an gclann go léir ar bhás Richard.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

I was very sad to hear that Richard had died only a mere year after his wonderful wife Finola had passed so suddenly. My condolences to his children and extended family. His funeral was a beautiful Service of remembering Richard's many sporting talents and abilities, his patience and kindness towards others. He would have loved the carefully chosen music. May He now find Rest and Peace reunited with Finola in his new Heavenly Home. Richard it was a pleasure to have known you. 💔
So sorry to learn of the passing of Dick. Our sincere condolences go to Ian and Sarah and the extended family. These have been difficult recent years in dealing with Dick's condition and then the loss of Finola, his wonderful wife. They were both such great friends to our family in Dundrum and they are now reunited in peace.
Sincerest sympathies to Ian, Sarah, Lee and the extended family at this sad time. I have the fondest memories of working with Richard in the old HPO - and of hearing his many and amusing stories of building projects, sailing, athletics and Munster rugby, among others. He was always a gentleman, supportive and the best of company. He made a significant and practical contribution over so many years to developing our health system for the benefit of all. RIP Richard.
Very sad to hear about the death of Richard, my uncle Dick. I have happy memories of him as a funny, intelligent, sporting, and kind gentleman. My thoughts are with my cousins Ian and Sarah, and also with my Uncle William at this very difficult time. We all know how how cruel a disease dementia is, and at least his family can have the comfort that Dick is now at peace.
