Go well Dick, I will miss that smile and the twinkle in the eye when he was up to no good. A man of few words so when he did pipe up people listened. We met while playing against each other at schools and became friends at Lansdowne. Traveled the world together and I could tell some stories. I remember when the knee was bad and top-level rugby or GAA were not an option; I convinced him to hopple out for Coolmine. On virtually one leg, he still tore it up in attack and hammered lads in defence. Unfairly gone too soon, condolences to the whole Rennicks family

My sincere condolonces to the Rennick family. I met Richard through the vets cycling league in Ireland. A fierce but quiet competitor. By chance I crossed paths with him in Portugal and even though I didnt know him very well at the time he invited me out for a spin with his local group. Despite this being one of the hardest spins I have ever been on, Richard was a pleasure to be around and a true gentleman. It is unsurprising to read of all his sporting achievements and prowess before he found cycling. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Mrs Rennicks, Robert, Andrew, Conor and all in Kilbride GAA, I am completely stunned and heartbroken to learn of Richie's passing. What a gentleman. But the gentle, kindly demeanor could never mask the fierce, battle-hardened competitor within. Fantastic memories of the three lads playing with Dunboyne underage sides and going on to wear the green and gold. One of the best individual displays I have ever seen from a Dunboyne player - Richard in the 1996 MFC semi final against Trim. He quite literally played himself to a standstill. The call up to the Meath senior panel was inevitable and, as several Meath players of that era have said since the awful news of his passing reached us, he looked right at home at the highest level and was surely destined for stardom he fate not cruelly intervened. Rest easy gentle giant.
