I worked with Richard in Newtown School for the last 20 years where he was a great friend and colleague.I will miss our chats about hurling and the merits of various pubs in town.

Richard was a valued colleague and a dear friend to many at Newtown School. A skilled craftsman in his trade, he brought not only expertise but also a helpful manner and a warm sense of humour to every task. He was truly a pleasure to work with.

The Winters family has shared a long and cherished connection with the school over three generations. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time and in the days ahead. Richard will be deeply missed.

We are so saddened to hear of Richard's death. We last saw him as he was leaving hospital, seemingly on the way to recovery.
He was such a skilled craftsman, as can be seen in so many places around Newtown School which will serve as a reminder of him (as indeed his father Joe).

Ann, my sincere sympathy on the loss of your beloved Rich. Two peas in a pod, ye were made for each other. Also, my condolences to the lads, extended family & friends.

Richie was a special person, so much fun & some man to have a debate. He could always hold his own. I loved being in his company. It has been a while since I saw him, but I think of him often and still laugh at things he said.

May your many wonderful memories of Richie give you all some comfort in the days ahead x
