My heart felt condolances to Beatty Family. Richie was a larger than life character, he gave me many oppertunities through cycling. He was a great believer in nurturing talent and called it exactly what as it was. Richie you gave me many great cycling memories and even more laughs. Rest in Peace.

Saddened beyond belief at Richie’s passing. He was my inspiration when I joined Les Jeunes CC in the early 1980s and fostered a belief in me I didn’t know existed.
His achievements remain a testament to the man I was privileged to know as colleague and friend. RIP
