I would like to express my sincere sympathies to Caroline, Hollie, Abi and all of Richie’s family and friends on the sudden and untimely passing of Richie.

Richie was my first coach when I attended the Meath Camogie u14 Development Squad, he instantly instilled confidence and belief into my playing ability at such a young age. My fondest memory of Richie was how much he cheered on Hollie and her Donaghmore Ashbourne team mates. He was on the field with the girls, encouraging them to win every ball. Richie’s presence on the sideline will be truly missed.

To Donaghmore Ashbourne, Kildalkey and Trim Camogie Clubs my heart goes out to you all. The camogie community will support you all in the hard days and weeks that follow.

Comhbhrón ó chroí le clann Richie; Caroline, Holly agus Abi.
His loss is felt throughout the clubs and indeed the counties. I will remember him with the fondest of memories of times spent coaching the Meath u16 Camogie girls under Richie’s leadership. He was always committed, prepared, brought the passion and encouraged all of us, with kindness and respect. And we had fun and banter at all the games and trainings.

He gave so much time and energy to many many players and I am grateful to him for sharing his passion with us all.

Thinking of all of his friends and family at this most unexpected, sad and difficult time.
