I would like to express my deepest Condolences to Lily and the Callinan Family In view of this Devastating Loss. I attended Knockbeg College with Rick for several Years and it was an absolute pleasure to know him. Rick was an enthusiastic, warm spirited and welcoming Individual who sustained a positive outlook throughout his young Life . I would also like to briefly mention that Rick had always expressed a sincere and genuine Interest in People, In particular towards those who were in need of Support but most Importantly Friendship for which I am very grateful.

Beautiful service today. Unfortunately I could only watch it online as I am in the UK. Boy did you all do Rick proud. Life will feel strange without joyous Rick around even though I only saw him on an odd trip home. He was a delight to be around. It is so unfair. Sincerest sympathies to his heartbroken family. Back in school Rick was a good friend of mine and I have only heard now of his passing. I am extremely sorry for your loss, Rick was a great guy, he was always such a funny man in school but also a genuinely good person as well. May he Rest in Peace.

Remember Ricky and his brothers playing juvenile hurling with Carlow Town, remember too Ricky winning the Cumann na mBunscoil hurling title with the Gaelscoil, a very reliable defender. Just consulted notes written after that 2006 final where after every players name was typed one word word to sum-up their contribution to the victorious campaign. After Ricky Callanan was typed 'omnipresent', a tribute to his enthusiasm in never missing the lunch-time training sessions. Was delighted to hear he was now coaching juveniles.

Rick's life was short but never dull and I was one of the many people lucky person to get to know him. He was a man with an appetite for mischief and a good laugh. Vincent and Lily you should be extremely proud of the man he became. Sending the entire Callanan clan the strength you will need to get through the years ahead without him.
