Many years ago she expressed her dread of ending up in a care home. How incredibly selfless of you both to put your mum's wishes first and foremost. Our sincere sympathy to all the family on the passing of my Godmother Auntie Ri. She was always a live wire in the company of friends and lived life to its fullest. I had many good holidays as a child in Clontarf. Now she is at home peacefully with Uncle Frank and very thankfull for the loving care received during the many difficult years of illness.May God give you all the strength in these coming days and weeks. My sincere and deepest condolences to the Byrne family on the passing of your dear Mum. I got to know Frank and Rita during the 80’s&90’s when I worked in Nolan’s Supermarket on Vernon Ave. As a young lad from the country back then in my first employment ,Rita always took time to see how I was getting on and when I became seriously ill in the mid 90’s, she sought me out and I can recall sharing many lunch breaks with her when she worked as a locum while I was going through cancer treatment and recovery. Both she and Frank attended our wedding in ‘96 and met my late Mam & Dad which I recall being thrilled about at the time. A very very special and unique lady and gentleman that I have never forgotten . Ar deis De go raibh a h-anam dilis.
