I have very fond childhood memories of Rita both as a work colleague and friend of Mam's for many years. In recent years, it was always lovely to meet her when walking around Renmore, she always seemed so delighted to meet and would always ask "How's Pat? Give her my best". Rita was a much loved, special person in our family. She was the best of company and a great conversationalist. Herself and my mother, Pattie, loved their chats including their reminiscences about Old Galway, the people they knew and the changes taking place. All the chat took place with a pot of tea & a plate of pancakes on the table. It was a privilege to know Rita and always a joy to spend time with her.
