I was so saddened and heartbroken to learn of Rita's passing. Even though time and distance meant we hadn't spoken in years, this news has hit me hard.
I will always remember her with great fondness from our childhood. Her laughter was contagious. Those memories are a testament to the wonderful, kind, and fun-loving person she was, even from the very beginning.
Losing someone who shared your history and your roots is an immense sorrow.
