We remember Rita with wonderful affection. She was always great fun to chat with, and she was so happily inspiring when we discussed the politics & the problems of the world. Her bright cheerfulness and positive approach to everything always made us feel cheerful too!

Our mother Eileen (Buckland, nee Moloney) and Rita became the best of friends - starting with our family trip to Dublin in 1959 (our grandmum Susie and our uncle Des and our mum Eileen and the two of us brothers Terry & Ray) where Rita & Keiran showed their famous hospitality by putting some of us up at their house and made us all happily welcome. Then that friendship with Eileen continued with mutual visits to Dublin or London, through the 1970s when Eileen needed support and advice, and on through the following decades for happy social visits until the 2010s - a lovely happy friendship.

The three of us - Terry, and Ray with partner Gill - will always think of Rita with a big smile on our faces, just as we had when we visited Rita and she greeted us with her own big broad smile.

And sending our deep condolences and wishes to Maeve and Billy for looking after their mum Rita, just as equally as Rita looked after them - what a wonderful way to live, and to be loved.
Love from:
Terry Buckland,
Ray Buckland and Gill Finch,

I was very sad to hear of the passing of my Great Aunty Rita. She was such an inspirational lady, with a passion for life. I always admired how intelligent, fun, witty and kind she was. Aunty Rita had a joyful energy around her and was always smiling.

My mum used to tell me how Aunty Rita excelled in all her schoolwork and was often top in her classes. I remember looking up to her, as a child and aspiring to be like her one day.
I will cherish all the lovely memories I have of Aunty Rita. I fondly remember playing games in Newcastle and spending days out in Dublin together.

RIP Great Aunty Rita.

Sending my love and deepest condolences to Billy, Maeve, Des, to my Grandmother Rita, and to all the grieving family. Love from Emma in England.
Sincere sympathy to Maeve and Billy on the passing of their mother, Rita. We also send our condolences to the extended Morgan and Walsh familes.
Our cousin Rita always had open house for us when we visited Dublin. When Margaret was in the Teacher Training College, Rita would cycle to Blackrock on a Sunday on the Tandem and they both would cycle back to Churchtown for the lunch. In the evening they would tandem back to Blackrock.

My condolences to the Walsh and Morgan families on the death of Rita. She was our next door neighbour in Cloyne many years ago. I remember the excitement when herself and Kieran arrived home on a tandem, having cycled from Dublin. On another occasion they arrived in a tiny three-wheeled buble car and somehow managed to fit a baby in the back. But mostly I remember her smiling face.
May she rest in peace.
