She was such a special lady especially for all her volunteering and her kindness to all the athlete's and their families. To my dear friend Anne and her sister Olivia, I offer my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your wonderful Mother Rita. She had the best loving, caring daughters in you both. To her son in law John (her loyal man friday) Shirley, Ivan, Tom, Olivia, Charlotte, Paddy and Ellie too, so sorry for such a huge loving presence gone from your lives. Rita was a great woman who you couldn’t but be instantly drawn to her warmth, kindness and good humour always. She always went that extra mile for family, friends. A true example of this was her dedication to the Special Olympics for over 30 years of her life. Which showed how committed she was to making things happen and getting things done and adding her own personal touch, a pillar of the community. It was a joy to see how she would light up speaking of her great grandchildren. They were one of her greatest joys and kept her spirit strong these last few years. Rita you have richly earned your heavenly reward, you are now reunited with Jim and all your loved ones gone before you. I know you will continue to inspire and influence from above.
