Deepest sympathies to the Bonham family from the Powers in No. 37 on Robbie's sad passing. Robbie was a lovely guy and will be sadly missed by all from Shanliss Way.
Still at a loss for words, trying to pick the right ones. They just seemed to pour out of Robbie; irascible, searing, painfully funny, mischievous - yet his comedy was but a fraction of his talent, all of which we're at a loss for his passing, and only part of who he was.
My condolences to his family for the sudden loss of an irreplaceable brother, he'll never be forgotten by those who loved and admired him.

Dear Debbie, Janet, Dave and John.
Sorry for Your loss.
I first met Robbie when I was working in The House Of Astrology, back in the day.
We had great chats about Dr. Who, Star Trek and 2000AD among many other similar things.
May Robbie Rest In Power.
Mind Yourselves.
Love and Light.

My deepest sympathies to Robbie's family and friends for your loss. Robbie was one of my favourite comedians of all time. He was so talented, kindhearted and authentic. I am grateful to have known him. May he rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to Robbie’s family. He was a diamond of a man. Extremely kind and great company. I will miss his smile alot. It was a real pleasure to know him
Heartbroken to hear of Robbie's passing. Spent many years with him in the Laughter Lounge. "Professionally",I loved doing sound for his gigs,he was a natural performer who always made me crackup even after the countless performances I saw. Robbie never ran over time, actually knew how to use a Mic...that was a rare thing years ago! He was always early to gigs, where we would sit in the green room chatting and arguing about sci-fi,music & comics(I always preferred Star Trek,so naturally I won/lost depending on your perspective). I loved when international comedians would perform with him and they couldn't believe they had never heard of him before,it was like we had our own secret weapon, one, we hoped, the world would one day see. We had some great times outside the lounge too and always talked about performing some music together, sadly that never transpired.
To the best FÁS comic ever,
you will be forever missed,
My deepest condolences,
Much love

Terribly saddened to hear about Robbie’s passing,a lovely fella with amazing talent and humour. RIP
So sorry to hear of Robbie's passing. We were good friends back in the early 90's growing up in Bruxelles. Condolences to all of the family.
Sincere condolences to Robbie's family and friends.
May he Rest in Peace.
May he Rest in Peace.
Robbie was already established in comedy by the time I started. He didn’t have to be helpful, or supportive, or encouraging to those coming up behind him. But he chose to be. Or maybe that was just his nature. A genuinely lovely guy to gig with and chat to after, he was a total gentleman to those of us less gifted and less polished.
His sense of mischief, his irresistible grin and his self-deprecating way of telling stories always reeled you in.
I hope, as his family, you know that the person you helped to form gave so much joy back to audiences, and fellow performers.
He was one of the good guys. I’ll miss him

Deepest sympathies to Debbie, Janet, Dave and John on the sad and untimely passing of Robbie, May he Rest in Peace.
I was very saddened to hear of Robbie’s passing. I’ve such fond memories of gigging with him over the years. Robbie was consistently hilarious and his sharp surreal mind always inspired me. My sincere condolences to his family and to all who knew and loved Robbie.
Deepest sympathy on the death of Robbie. May he Rest In Peace.
I'm so saddened to hear of Robbie's passing. He was such a wonderfully gentle and pure soul. I have performed on the same bill as Robbie on a number of occasions and his warm spirit was always a pleasure to have around on the comedy scene. I'll never forget the first time I saw him absolute tear the roof off of a Laughter Lounge gig - he was on a level that I could only aspire to be at.
A number of years ago, Robbie's love for music saw him ask me to teach him piano. The first (and only) lesson we had turned into a lovely evening which ended up being the last time I saw Robbie but I'll never forget it.
Robbie was a true artist. A wonderfully creative and talented man and it's clear to see the lasting impression that he had on everyone that knew him.
Rest comfortably Robbie.

To The Bonham Family,
We are very sorry for the loss of Robbie.
We have known Robbie for 22 years through the Battle of the Axe Comedy Club. He thrilled many audiences for years and on his night was as good as anyone in the country.
In recent years we got to know Robbie even more as a near neighbour in the Liberties. He settled in good and was well respected in the area. He was always nice and very chatty no matter how many times we met him on the street during the day.
He recently borrowed a step ladder from us to do up his apartment. He returned it within the last two weeks apologising for getting a little bit of paint on it, to wish we fell about the place laughing because we were just glad someone go to used it. We will remember forever in a very funny and happy way for this.
To say we were shocked when we heard of his passing was a total understatement. After such a long time it's think that he is not with us anymore.
Thanks very much Robbie for being so loyal to our shows and being a great Liberties neighbour.
In the words of Dave Allen - May your God go with you Robbie. 🙏🕯🕊
Regards,
Tony, Pearl, Alex and Karl Ferns

Rest easy funny man xxxx from all of the Carr and ComedyDublin clan Margo
They say many a true word is spoken in jest, and Robbie was the finest proponent of this. He spoke truth to power and ruffled the feathers of the complacent. He was one of the greats. Thinking of his family at this sad and difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Wishing you comfort and strength.
Such a talent. A lovely, kind soul and boy was he funny. So glad our paths crossed as many times as they did. All the better for having met him. Condolences to Robbie's family and those closest to him. Not many like him.

So saddened to hear of Robbie's passing, he was one in a million. Our condolences to all Robbie's family and friends. Rest in peace, Robbie 🕊
Sincerest condolences to the Bonham family. I first met Robbie in Bruxelles in or around 1996. We lost touch and our paths crossed again at a charity gig he did in 2019 in Tallaght. We caught up with each other through social media. Robbie was such a funny guy and a great cartoonist - seriously talented (I think I might have some of his early cartoons stored away somewhere). He will be missed so much by all whose lives he touched - he had a way of lighting up a room with his cheeky smile and the raised eyebrow. Rest easy Rob, you'll never be forgotten.
I met Robbie in college studying animation. I had never met a comedian before and it felt like meeting an astronaut or a formula one driver. We bonded over a love of comedy and sci fi. We would hang out after class, he would burn me dvds of Richard Pryor and Doug Stanhope. Eventually he pushed me into trying stand up. I dont think i would've ever stood up on a stage without Robbies encouragement. He was a kind and generous friend who never asked me for anything in return. I hope he's now at peace.
My deepest sympathies to his family and to all his friends.

Where you grow up, who you know, and the things you share in common, influence us more then we know.
When I think of growing up on Shanliss Way, Robbie was one of the people who influenced my appreciation of music and art, in all its forms, from Sci-Fi tv shows, movies, and of course comics, and getting to hear music that I might not have come across.
Talent for something is one thing, but having passion also is another. Robbies art was always easily identified as his own, the same for his comedy, he had a natural flare for it.
It was so sad to have heard the news, but no doubt Dave, Janet, Debbie and John, and all of the family know Robbie was loved by so many people.
His story has been a colourful rollercoaster ride that sadly ended way before its time.
And its probably fitting to think of a quote from his favourite character...
"We´re all stories in the end...Just make it a good one, eh?" Dr Who

'The happiest I ever felt was before drink OR performing comedy came along. My teenage evenings consisted of drawing while listening to music, then when I’d finished, I’d learn to play the music on my little keyboard, and get that written down too. That’s the Robbie I miss. He was a lovely guy. Chronicly shy, but y’know, you can’t have everything. I’m going to win him back.'

Devastated to hear this news. I first met Robbie when l worked in Santry many years ago. I remember him telling me he had given up his job in printing and was going into stand up. I don't think he ever realised how talented and gifted he was. Rest well Robbie and I hope you're at peace.
Robbie was one of the sweetest, most gifted and kind hearted souls I ever was lucky enough to meet in my life. Feel so blessed to have met him. Thinking of all of Robbie’s family at this time. May he Rest in Peace.
All of us at the Iveagh Trust who knew Robbie are really saddened to hear of his passing.
A really talented artist and cartoonist, among many other things, Robbie was a former resident. The Trust commissioned Robbie on many occasions to produce artwork - everything from our Christmas cards for older residents, to archive and promotional material for our website. His work never disappointed and will live on.
Our thoughts are with all of his family and friends at this time.
May he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear you have left us Robert. You sang beautifully in the Greenfields Boys Choir, and always had a new Star Wars theory. Rest well.
Sleep peacefully Rob. Love Tricia. My condolences to all the family.
