Robert (Bob) BRERETON

My sincere condolences to you Philip,extended family and friends of dear Bob. I have very fond memories of Bob while working in ILH.

Dear Philip,

Perhaps you remember how you and Robert looked after a 17 year old from Crewe during his first visit to London in 1995? Robert’s mother, Lily, was the neighbour to my grandmother, Alice Edge. Marion, Alice’s second daughter, was my mother and she and my dad, Keith, knew exactly who to ask to look after me when I travelled to London as a keen but wide-eyed A-Level student doing research for a school project. Robert met me at Euston, introduced me to the tube, and you both made me feel at home in your flat at Lancaster Gate.

Something made me think of you and Robert only the other day and I found myself wondering where in the world you both were. A quick search online brought me to this site and the sad news that I had missed by a few days the chance to say hello and thanks again to Robert thirty years later for introducing me to the city that I’ve called home for almost 25 years.

I only got to know Robert in the nursing home as a weekly volunteer ,with my dog Lexi, (Irish Therepy Dogs).
In this short time, we've had some lovely chats, and im going to miss his lovely north of England accent and jovial laughter.
