I got to know Bobby in St Francis Hospice while my Mum was in G3 next door. I introduced myself while the nurses were tending to her one day & we became firm friends. Talking about sport & sharing a slice of my birthday cake.
When I was having a bad day, he gave me the perspective that everything has meaning. Maybe I will be able to help a friend through a loss in the future from the experience I had & Bobby's kind words... 🤞🏻
Rest in Peace, Bobby 🫂💞

I was very sad to hear of Bobby’s death and to have missed his internment. Bobby was my second cousin and a good friend to me. Deepest sympathy to all connections. RIP
I was there today at the funeral Mass for my good friend Bobby. I didn't get to meet his family but they are in my prayers. Just had a knee replacement, which slowed me down. The priest said kind things about Bobby and I know they were all true. He was a good and saintly man who served God and his people well. He was also a great friend and I will miss him so much. I wish his family, friends and neighbors every blessing and comfort at this difficult time. Bobby, please keep me in your prayers till we meet again. May you enjoy seeing once more, family and friends who like your good self, enjoy the fullness of God's love in Heaven. Thank you for all the goodness and kindness that were so much a way of life for you.

Rest in Peace Bobby and condolences to the family. A lovely gentle person and a stalworth of the 10AM mass in Aughrim Street, Dublin 7 for many years.
My lovely Uncle Bobby, it breaks my heart to say goodbye to you (for now) whatever it was that made me go and see you when I did, and gave me the opportunity to spend those precious last days with you. I will be forever truly greatful.
To hear that wonderful laugh and see your eyes twinkle with your lovely smile one last time...
Your kind heart and gentle soul will stay with me forever, along with the many wonderful memories.
One of me earliest being, sitting on a bench making daisy chains as a young child. To this day I quote one of your sayings. "Decisions, decisions, always decisions" you would say this with a smile on your face and twinkling eyes.
My Uncle Bobby, My Godfather, My Friend. You have left a footprint on my heart and many others. You will be forever loved and never ever forgotten.
May you Rest in Peace

Dearest Bobby.. Well I waited and waited at the restaurant at the Iveagh Gardens Hotel for you to join me for dinner this August, and as I usually did on my first evening back home on holiday in Ireland! Only a few days later did I find out you were sadly in hospice 😰 I was devastated, and have prayed for you daily since then!
Am relieved that you are now out of pain and in Heaven👼
Such fun memories and chats with you, when as a young teenager I blushed whenever I saw your handsome face and those riding boots when you came to see Mammy Lalor in Parliament Street! And then back from France when I dared go out with you .. so much older and all knowing !
And your days as a Seminarian when we met up again when you visited a Parish in Northern Kentucky, and when I lived nearby in Cincinnati .. and that beautiful poem of Yeat’s “ Down by the Sallie Gardens” which you sent me 🌹and most especially “ The Imitation of Christ” which I read daily!
Now Godspeed dear, you are in our Lady’s Arms in heaven! God Bless you gentle Bobby 🙏❤️ Thanks for the memories!

A sad loss, a wonderful gentleman. Weve been neighbours for many years on Oxmantown road and during that time we had great chats when we'd meet out walking. Robert always had facinating stories from his life which I loved hearing. We need more people in this world like Robert. Rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to Bobby’s family .
Fond memories of him and one of life’s gentlemen.
May all the good deeds he did in this life travel with him to his new eternal home with our Lord in Heaven.

I am very sad to learn of Robert's (Bob's) death. He studied at All Hallows College from 1979 and was a year ahead of me. We had many long chats at All Hallows during our time there and over the years that have since passed. He was a thorough gentleman, faith filled, gracious, and kind. We met each time I was in Ireland and I last saw him November 2024, when we shared a meal together. I had tried to contact him and meet this time too. He always sent me a hand written Christmas card. He had great love for his family and was so proud of his Kilkenny roots. I have a tape of his sister Helen singing, given to me by Bobby.
I will miss my visits to Oxmanstown Road and our shared meals together. He also had a great love for All Hallows College. I have no doubt he now shares eternal life with Christ whom he served so well. I extend my sincerest sympathies to his family and friends and will keep him and them in prayer.
