Bobby became one of the highlights of my day when he would come to the shop for his paper. He was a man of great pride and principal. He was charming, charismatic and could capture any audience with his ability to tell his fascinating life stories. Bobby loved to make others happy and always amazed me of how he spoke about his amazing wife Joan, his beautiful children and grandchildren. He was so proud of each of them and loved them all dearly. He was an absolute gentleman and the world is a darker place without him here. He will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences to the family. Thinking of you all at this sad time. It was with great sadness that I learnt from Esther that her beloved brother Bobby had passed away. Frank, Bobby, Esther, Paul and I go back a long way to our happy days in the Fr Mathew Hall . I met this charming gentleman and great character "Bobby" Hyland a number of year's ago and I feel privileged to be able to call him a dear friend. He captivated all before him with his tales of all the old footballers that must have had the pleasure of playing football with this lovely lovely man and not to mention his stories of friendships with famous horse trainers and jockeys alike. But the biggest impression he made on me was the pride in which he took while talking about his wife, kids, and especially his grandchildren. To his wife Joan and extended family may I offer my sincere condolences but always remember you's were blessed to have Bobby in your lives because I know I definitely was, Bobby had impeccable manners and dress sense, such a genuinely lovely person and a true gent.
God have mercy on his soul and may he rest in eternal peace.
