Having joined Sligo Rovers in 1994 from Stoke City Robert went on to play 82 competitive games for the Bit o Red scoring three goals from the full back position. He was voted Sligo Rovers player of the season 1994/95, named in the League of Ireland team of the season and nominated for the PFAI Young Player of the Year award which is enduring testimony as his quality as a professional soccer player for just one of his many clubs during his sporting career. May he Rest in Peace.
