I first met Bob sailing in Dublin Bay Sailing Club in the Fireball class when Bob and his crew the late Fr Martin Clarke were lively competitors both on and off the race course. Bob moved on to a Trapper 300 in the cruiser class and then a Dufour 32 "Ceolaire"
Always a pleasure to meet on the waterfront with an interesting comment and observation. Fond memories.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Bob. We had endless interesting conversations in the Library in the George. He was a lovely guy to chat with and will be missed by me and so many others. My condolences to his daughter and family.
