I’m so sad to hear of Bobby’s passing, may he rest in peace. He was a lovely man, loved our Cappuccino and chats during lockdown outside the petrol station. A true gentleman, great with the inside info at the tracks too. I’ll miss bumping into him.
My condolences to the Ellard family and to all those who knew Bobby. Bobby was my first boss around 2003-2006 in Dun Laoghaire station. I’ve fond memories of him mentoring me as a young man moreso in the ways of life than in how to do the job. He loved having us water the plants and he was very proud of the station and keeping it looking well.
May he Rest in Peace

Paul, Sharon, Cara and Rory. I am sorry to hear about your loss. May Robert rest in peace.
Our deepest condolences to Bobbys family and friends and colleagues.
Bob was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed in dunlaoghaire.
From his ticket checking to story telling every day was a different day with Bob.
He never really left the rail he just stepped back and kept a close eye on the station and colleagues.
From trains to reins he had so many journeys in life, and now his last journey will be a one way ticket to paradise.
All aboard Bob. RIP.

I'm deeply sad to hear Bobby has died. Both he and I started our working lives in CIE with Bobby in Irish Rail. He was a dedicated railway man all his life. In later years we met up from time to time and I truly enjoyed his company and be part of the Ellard clan in the Dún Laoghaire area. Both Bobby and I were members of the Dun Laoghaire Borough Historical Society and traced our ancestry back to our Grandparents George and Elizabeth (Nee Eldon) who married in St Michael's Church 1914. My deepest condolences to all the Dalkey Ellards from all the Sallynoggin Ellards (Remembering also Robbie,& Kathleen Ellard rip) Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. RIP Bobby.
