Just found out about Robert, cannot believe it. Our thoughts are with you at this time. Robert and Mark are like part of the furniture in Tillie's.

Condolences from Tina, Ellie and all the staff.
Robert was like a father to me...actually he always told me that i am half irish...i can not believe he is an angel now...i am so sad...i have no words to tell you how sad i am...Eva and Ruth your father was so proud of you bouth...he told me so many storyes about you...he was so kind...i have no words to explain how sad i am...i lost my best friend,my father and my brother in the same time...he was my familly...he helped me a lot...he teached me how to become a better person and how to be a better mum for my dauther...i miss him... REST IN PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND...
Bob made me laugh so many times! There was often an edge to his jokes but boy was he witty! I can see him still, eyeing me as if daring me not to laugh at something outrageous he said. When I knew him, at UCD, he gave the impression that Howth was the real world, totally, naturally, everyone knew that. If you weren't from Howth you were no-one. His Howth seemed a place of real work, family and friends. That was what life seemed to be about for him. And the ideas, laughter, talk, of UCD. And traveling back and forth between them: because I met him most often on the bus! To Bob's family and friends, Robert's family and friends, my deep sympathy on the loss of a man I knew only when he was young, an intelligent, very funny, complicated, challenging man.
Eva I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, I'm thinking of you and your family at this hard time and I'm always there for you x
Deeply saddened at news of the death of my old friend Robert, whom I was friends with at U.C.D in 1977/78.
