Robert Horgan

Robert was very nice and I will miss him. I was sad to hear that he died. I will pray for him. The funeral and the music was lovely. May Robert and all departed souls rest in peace.

I wish to express my sympathy to Robert's family.
I got to know Robert in 5th & 6th year at school and spent many enjoyable hours playing Chess and Bridge with him. May he rest in peace.

My abiding memory of Robert is in your kitchen seeing him making himself a sandwich and singing along to Neil Diamond
on the Radio before going off to the hotel where he was working a night shift at the time

I have lovely memories of picnics in Garrettstown with Robert etc and during his Castleknock schooldays going to the Abbey theatre with Auntie Marjorie and himself and in more recent years Christmas family poetry & singing sessions.
I am sure he has gone to his Heavenly Reward.

A number of years ago when teaching my grandson how to play chess he asked me had my father taught me. I said no and that it was a boy called Robert Horgan when we were in school in Castleknock. Robert had enormous patience for “chess eejits” like me but his generosity of spirt in instilling a love of the game is something I have tried to emulate with my grandsons. May his soft soul rest in peace and at peace. RD
