I was out of the Country when Bob died and only learned of his death on my return. I offer my deepest sympathy to you his family on your loss of a good man and a great father. I did some of my growing up on Fairbrook Lawn near his parents and knew Maeve and John through my involvement in the Wheelchair Association and I also knew Joan. More recently I met Bob many times when I was at Donnybrook Church and knew him for the fine man he was and the many good things he did. May he rest in peace. I regret that I was not able to attend his funeral. He and you are in my prayers.

We came to live as newlyweds in a newly built house right beside the bungalow of Mr and Mrs Gahan Senior in Fairbrook Lawn almost 55 years ago. From the very beginning, the Gahan family made us very welcome. and this included Robert, his wife Jo and his children who would come to visit several times a week and we were always touched by their friendliness and kindness. May Robert rest in a well-deserved peace..
