Robert Michael (Bob) FitzGerald

I was very sorry to hear of Bob’s death. He was a kind gentleman and a great colleague who cared about everyone. My sincere sympathies to all of his family.

We both worked with Bob for many years in the Four Courts. We have memories forever of a kind and gentle friend and colleague. May he Rest In Peace.

In my last 4 years working in Sophie Barat Residence I have increasingly got to know Bob. He was the most well presented gentleman I have known. Every day he passed my office with a great smile and a wave. We always had some joke to laugh about. He brought many a smile to my face and I think to his own too. My greatest happiness for Bob is that until the day he took unwell he religiously went every day to meet his friends for lunch. It was a pleasure watching him out every day. We had a joke that some day I would join him for lunch, but I had a job to do. Every resident in Sophie Barat Residence will miss his happy face, especially myself. RIP Robert. I remember Bobby so well from summer holidays in Donabate. He was such a genuine gentle, kind and friendly person. A real gentleman. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

It was with great sadness we learned of the passing of Bob. He was always such a warm friendly face to meet in the Four Courts and more recently our encounters each Friday in Gleesons. His positive attitude and lovely sense of humour were an inspiration to all of us fortunate to know him.
