Sincere condolences to Tessa, Amy, Aaron and the Purcell/Robinson families. We are all so saddened to hear of Robert’s passing. We will greatly miss him in the CCJ. He really looked after me when I started in the courts, always had good advise and a cheerful word. He went over and above the call of duty. He spoke fondly of his family and I always knew how much they meant to him. If someone asked what solicitor would you recommend.. it would have been Robert. His spirit will live on with us and he won’t be forgotten; we’ll forever think of how wonderful he was. I will keep him and Rory and the family in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you strength in the times ahead.. Forever missed Robert RIP

I had occasion to meet Robert when my nephew was in difficulty. It was my first experience of court , and I have to say without doubt , that Robert couldn’t have been kinder to both myself and my nephew. We had a good outcome and I often thought of the kindness and gentleness of Robert afterwards.

You eased my mind and told me not to worry about the cost of your professional representation in my dark days. You kept that promise by accompanying me and sitting beside me when I needed you and thereafter. May God grant you eternal rest and sit beside you now.

Tessa, Amy and Aran you are in my thoughts and prayers. Robert had a real presence in the Courts and will be remembered with real respect and great fondness by his clients, colleagues and all who crossed his path in his work. I’m so so sorry that you have endured this terrible loss.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Robert's death. Some years ago he acted for a family member who had foolishly got himself into trouble . I still remember not just the professionalism with which Robert dealt with the case but also his attentive and caring attitude which was so helpful at such a difficult time. New of Roberts death and that of his son Rory last year came as a huge shock to me. I only found out last night when a friend told me on the phone. I would have wanted to attend services in memory of both of them. Robert represented me nearly 7 years ago. I found him very expert and easy to deal with. May he and his son rest in peace, sincerest sympathies to his family.

Robert was the best of us.

My deepest sympathies to all of Robert’s family. A true gentle-man, excellent colleague and friend. In 20 years he had the misfortune to take my calls to look after some case or other in the courts in Dublin for me and never once did he not text back or email or take the call. People in the profession will know how special his qualities were. He was calm, professional, and humorous with it. . He always had a smile and always had a minute to talk about Tuam. What has happened in 13 months is heartbreaking. Words are not enough. I’m truly sorry. That’s all I can say.
