Robbie, how is this real. You were the heart and soul of Gortmore like your mam before you. Always a big howeya and smile for everyone you met. You were larger than life and left an impression on everyone you met. You were the best kind of chaos that everyone needs in their life. At your funeral the priest said go out into the world and be what you admired in Robbie…. I know everyone will try, but we’ll never be able to replace you. You were one of a kind.

Still can’t believe it buddy I’ll never see the “shady eyes “as the woman in the shop around the corner from the hotel Danubio in Gran Canaria used to say . We had the greatest of laughs on two continents and built a friendship that will last forever my friend. Still can’t get my head around it. Can’t imagine how your broken hearted family feel. Sure we were only chatting last week on the road about my new bike. Always messing, always a ‘wild boy’. We grew up together and we’ll be bound together forever because of that childhood we shared. My god did we get up to some craziness. Life took us different paths yet when we crossed paths no matter how many years had passed there would always be a wave, a distanced salute, or a chat! Where do you start when saying something about Robbie. I met Robbie first in Playa del Ingles. Must be 20+ years ago now. Infectious laugh and a sound lad. He became a friend to the end. A selfless man. Only have to use Apollo House as the prime example of what he stood for. I could go on and on but I'll stop here. Unique in every way. Shero will be missed, mourned and most of all, smiled about with all the great memories we have of him.
