Robert (Tony) Sheehan

I first met Tony in 1970 when my Aunt Theresa came to stay with us in NY until her marriage to Tony. My first impression of Tony Sheehan was that my aunt was a lucky woman because she was marrying a fine man.

I am blessed to have known him.
Rest in peace Tony and give my father’s baby sister a hug for me.

Very sad to hear of Tony’s death. He and Teresa were wonderful fun and so happy. Resting together now.

Extending my condalences to Tony,s family and close Friends, I have many happy childhood memories meeting Tony in Millstreet on his annual trips home. No doubt he is at peace now with his beloved wife Thresa may they both rest in peace

I extend my deepest sympathies to all who loved my Uncle Tony. He was my father Jerry’s only sibling, and together they shared an extraordinary bond forged in both hardship and hope. Born in Mallow to Paddy and Catherine (Justice) Sheehan, the two boys were orphaned as teenagers and taken in by their mother’s family in the West End of Millstreet - a time in their lives that shaped their resilience and character.

Like so many of their generation, both emigrated to the United States and built meaningful, successful lives. Uncle Tony found his lifelong partner in Theresa (Cronin), also of Millstreet, and from the day they married they moved through the world as one. My fondest image of them will always be watching them glide across the dance floor at family weddings with such grace and joy.

When my father became terminally ill at age 55, it was Tony and Theresa who came to my college dorm to break the news with compassion and honesty, respecting my father’s wish to shield me until my exams were complete. After my father’s passing, Tony checked in on me faithfully, always reminding me to live in a way that would make my father proud. I will carry that kindness for the rest of my life.

God bless Tony and Theresa. May they rest in peace, reunited in the love that guided them through life.
