I had the great fortune to work for Bill in the late 90s. It was an Odyssey filled with wonderful creativity, energy and adventure that took us all across the globe. He was a true mentor - full of insight about work and, perhaps more importantly, about life. Whether working with Ted on producing videos, Friday lunch in the Unicorm or trips to Kenmare to interview the Brennans, the wisdom and skills that he was so generous in sharing I still use to this day. Condolences to Ted, Jess and family. One of a kind.
Ruby (our Goldendoodle) and I will miss Bill and Rufus on our morning walks in Merrion. He was an absolute gentleman. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to all of his family at this time. May he rest in peace. Rachel
Ted and family so very sorry to hear of the passing of Bill. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. 🙏
Condolences on the passing of a wonderful guy, great memories of our time in Arks and I.I.
What a wonderful man and what a wonderful send off yesterday. You couldn't have pitched the tone any better. He would be so proud of you both.

We're all thinking of you.

There must be a truly great white wine out there somewhere Bill - the search continues.......
I am so sorry not to be present at Bills’ funeral, but I am in America.
I remember Bill as one of the best friends I ever had. When I made the traumatic decision to leave my comfortable home, Bill and I rented a house on Granitefield Road. We filled it with junk furniture, and Bill filled it with fun. I met my late wife, my beloved Helen, on a double date with Bill. I watched as he courted his beautiful Joan, and I was his best man when he married her, and celebrated with them when Jess and Ted arrived.
I loved Bill, but I also envied him. I envied his easygoing charm and affable manner, that drew people to him-he had so many friends. I also envied his talent: Bill was good at everything. He was a brilliant hockey player, he was musical, he was artistic, and he was very, very good at his chosen profession, advertising. We worked together in OK-B and especially in Arks, where his ‘group’ became the heart of the agency. He then went on to being the head of two agencies - pretty well the pinnacle of his profession.
We became less close when we were both in management roles in competing agencies, but for the past several years, we shared a lunch with old colleagues twice a year- that will never be the same again.
My deepest condolences to Jess and Ted, and all the family - I know he will be sorely missed.
Jess and family so sorry to hear that your beloved Dad has passed r.i.p. Bill is now flying high with Joanie. Love Mags

Thoughts are with you at this sad time x
It was an era ago when we worked together, back in the Ark.
You were a creative gentle-man and it's not always the two go together.
Codladh Sámh Bill, go néirí do bhothar nua agat.
Sending our sincerest sympathy to Bill's family and friends as we in the advertising industry mourn the loss of one of our great colleagues and former leaders. With love and respect from all at Irish International (now TBWA Dublin).
Deepest sympathy to Ted and Jess on the death of your beloved Dad . May his gentle soul rest easy with your Mum. We will remember always what wonderful neighbours we had in Woodpark, and treasure the memories of so many happy occasions. David and Rosary Cox .
Our sincere sympathy to Bill's family and friends. We have many lovely memories of Bill here on Clare Island during the Bard Summer School. May is he rest in peace
Your Dad was a consummate gentleman. In him were all the elements that in my mind, and I’m sure in the minds of many more, made him the very essence of Dublin’s intellectual aristocracy. Something great has passed.

A great raconteur, deliciously irreverent, sagacious, loving, erudite, charismatic, gregarious and unstintingly generous… and beyond all that, the adoring husband in the exemplary romance that was Joan and Ted.

I felt such admiration and affection for your dear father.

Oh… to be half the man that he was.

I feel quite numbed at your sad news. God bless you all.

❤️❤️❤️
Very sad to hear of the death of the Clover Kid. We had eight years together in Arks a long time go.
Dear old Bill, tears on the letter I write. What a marvellous human being and such fun. You contributed so much to Merrion and the friends you made there. Not bad for a geezer with a dog. Sleep well old pal.
My condolences to Jess, Ted and family on the loss of your wonderful Dad. Bill was a mighty man.
Jess,
My deepest sympathy to you on the death of your Dad, and wishing all of you strength in the coming days .
To Ted, Jess, Felton family members and dear friends, our deepest sympathy on your loss. We are fortunate to have shared with Bill and Joan three beautiful grandchildren (Harry, Robbie and Barney) and know glimpses of Bill will continue in them. Much love to Ted and Pen at this time.
I remember Bill as great company, watching cricket in Merrion Cricket Club, Anglesea Road. He'll be missed by me and many others. My thoughts and prayers are with all Bill's family and friends. RIP
It will never be the same again… Elena (Bard Team)
