I am so sorry to hear about Robins death. I had a lot of tragedy 20 years ago and had to arrange 3 funerals in 4 months. Robin was so kind and caring and professional in all 3 funerals. May he rest in peace.

He had a great welcome and we remained friends ever since. Along with Coolmine, we had a mutual love of the Dubs and Leeds, and in the good days and the bad days, we always had a great laugh chatting about them. RIP.

I was one of the many 'culchies' that joined this new rugby club in the 80's. We all found a home from home, in no small part due to Robbie, who set an open welcoming culture that has lasted through the years. He will be greatly missed. RIP Robbie

Memories come flooding back over many years of the beginnings of Coolmine RFC and all have Robbie at their heart. But the most memorable for me is the absolute pleasure of being on the same rugby pitch as Robbie. I recall his consummate ability with ball in hand and him ghosting through rigid defenses without a hand being laid on him and would-be tacklers grasping fresh air looking with amazement at how he managed to slip through with a deft show-and-go or a swivel of his hips.
And now again he's demonstrated that innate talent by slipping through from this life to the next with the same élan while leaving all those who knew him with a sense of disbelief.
Bravo Robbie et bon sejour.
