Very sad to learn of Robin's passing, a very kind and encouraging teacher during my years at The High School and in later life a good friend.
Andrew and Jonathan,
It was such sad news to hear of your fathers passing. He was always so very kind and welcoming to me growing up. My parents in particular mourn the loss of a great friend and wanted you to know that their hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow.

Deepest sympathies to the family on the loss of a father, grandfather and a true gentleman.
I had the great pleasure of singing with Robin in the bass line of the Guinness Choir. His enthusiasm and musical knowledge were always in evidence. He could be critical when required and his humorous take on our next planned work during a very recent Zoom meeting will last long in the memory.
He will be greatly missed but leaves a legacy of integrity and style.
May he Rest in Peace.

I am very saddened to learn of Robin’s passing. He was an absolute gentleman, most kind, helpful and considerate in all his dealings with me. His knowledge of Ancient Greek was profound, and it was always instructive, and never less than a pleasure, to speak with him about the language and literature of the Greeks. My condolences to his family. RIP
Even more than twenty years later, I feel privileged to have been a student of Robin's at High School, Dublin. Officially he taught our class Latin, Roman history, and a little of his favourite: ancient Greek. Unofficially he demonstrated how impactful a person may be when they passionately follow a vocation. He seemed to us to be a deeply ethical man, and we became better people when we entered his classroom. Decades of students are extremely lucky that Robin chose to use his talents teaching. His life is an example for us all.
My condolences on the loss of a wonderful man.
As a Latin pupil of Robin Miller's, he made a permanent impression on me. He was funny, patient, intelligent and kind. What a wonderful example he set.
My very best wishes, and sincere condolences to all your family.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to all of Robin’s family. May Robin rest in peace. I got to know him as a member of the Guinness choir and we both sang in the Second Bass section. I was always very happy to sing at Robin’s side, as he had an excellent sense of choral music and we could sometimes joke at the difficulties we both experienced attempting to follow the composer’s wishes! I got to know his wry sense of humour which I tried to match and thoroughly enjoyed. When I met him once at a ‘Schols’ dinner, I learnt that he was a former scholar of Trinity College, an achievement that he certainly did not flout, but gave me an insight to the nature of the man. I can readily appreciate all the positive comments made about him from former students in High School. He was clearly a wonderful teacher, mentor and colleague. I had the good fortune to chat with him by Zoom some weeks ago and then again on a second occasion when he had become unwell. He had told me about his illness some time ago but with admirable acceptance and lack of self pity. We will all miss Robin greatly.

Together with my wife Mary I wish to convey our condolences to the family of Robin in their grief. My parents were next door neighbours of Robin for many years and his support to them was greatly appreciated by my family. When my mother became a widow Robin looked out for her safety and took her shopping each week. He was a quintessential Christian gentleman and an exemplary member of Rathfarnham Parish.
As a past pupil of High School, I think the current headmaster's eulogy in these pages says it all .
Robin is remembered with esteem and affection.

Johnny and family, I am so sorry to hear of Robin's passing, I am thinking o you all at this time.
Jonny and Andy,
As a child your Dad beautified the services in Rathfarnham Parish that we attended as a family, especially with my late Dad, Tom, with his singing in the choir. Much appreciated by my Mum, Edie who also loves to sing. In High School he was a wonderful guidance teacher to me and my sister Caroline. In the HSD PPU, he was always a friendly, supportive presence giving me great guidance and advice. It was so lovely to see you all together at the 150th dinner, which I was delighted to attend with my son. I hope you know what a positive influence he has had on so many lives, including my family, over the years. May he rest in peace.
