So sorry that I was unable to be at Ruby's funeral today. I have many memories of Ruby from the time she worked with my Dad in Harper's. She was a lovely lady. My sympathy to you Bertie, Florence and Harry on your great loss.

I knew Ruby many years ago. I never forgot her warmth. She had a laugh that could fill a room and a heart full of comfort and care. She was a source of gentleness and strength. I wish she had known how loved she deserved to be. May she rest in peace and be remembered for the kindness she gave so freely.

My sympathies to the Bleakley and Gillanders families. My late parents Hannah and Bennie were great friends with Ruby when they used to meet in Wallace’s. I also remember going to her mother’s house to have clothes made or made up, those were the days.
