Very sorry to hear of Roddys' passing. He stayed with me while he attended college in Cork. He brought great energy wherever he went. Condolances to his family.

So sorry to hear of Rods passing . He was a wonderful warm man. We have great memories including calling in to the studio on the off chance of getting a picture to honor a promise from Eoin. Rod of course insisted we have a few beers and the selection was done and then of course the pretzel planting and dinner with Anjas real pretzels!

I was so very saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of my old school friend Roddy. I have the fondest memories of him, a great guy and exceptional artist . My thoughts and prayers are with his family. RIP dear Rod .

My deepest condolences to Rod's family at this sudden loss. I knew Roddy at Dun Laoghaire School of Art where he always shared his smiles, hugs and amazing positivity. It was so brilliant to reconnect with him in later years about painting and all things art, and again share time with him when he joined the painting festival in Domburg, the Netherlands. His energy and commitment to his art was second to none and he has left an incredible legacy behind. He was a beautiful, gentle man. May he rest in peace

Roddy was such a great character with a fantastic personality.

All though our paths haven't crossed for a long time I have some great memories from our time at school, particularly the good times we had with both the school and Seapoint rugby teams.

I have lovely memories of Rod. So funny, warm, cuddly and such a big but understated presence. We worked together back in the day in Dunnes Stores, Cornelscourt, and he made it bearable. We lost touch since then, sadly, but he left a big impression on me. I remember Rod would sometimes say ‘I’m a tired teddy bear’. after working the late shift stacking shelves on Friday nights! So much to remember; his painted leather jacket, excellent (some times bone crushing!) bear hugs, his complexity, intelligence, quick wit and ability to wind up and be hilarious, his artistic talent and admirable dedication to his life as an artist, the love and loyalty he had for his family and friends. Oh Roddy, what have you gone and done now. My dear old pal. This is a shock too much. Our gang, way back in our art college days. What joys we shared. You with your well rounded personality on your well rounded wheels. 🏍️We could hear you coming and it was exciting when you arrived with that big smile and filled the room.Your talent, your passion and dedication to your art will leave a lot for your girls and all your family to be proud off. You had insight and perspective and you were just great! I was so happy to celebrate with you and Anja, the love of your life at your wedding. Remembering your brother Paul also at this sad time. I have such great memories of Rod and our fun years in college. Rod was the party, and he was larger than life. He was always passionate about his art and devoted to his great love Anya and the girls.
I remember his great laugh and his energy and passion for life.
He will be so missed.

I remember Rod as a student, artist, and friend, a regular resident at Cill Rialaig, which he often visited with my nephew and fellow artist, Scott Redden. Rod loved his family, his friends, and his art. He leaves a legacy as a passionate artist, husband, and father … a lovely man. My deepest condolences to Anja and family. RIP Rod.

Sincere sympathy to Anja, Lola, Maya and brother Paul on the sad passing of Rod. I have lovely memories of visits he made here years ago as part of my daughter Maeve’s ‘gang’ from Art College. Like all students, they came hungry and were always amazed at the amount of food available in the fridge and freezer! It was a pleasure to feed them and I was more than repaid with some great stories of their student escapades. Rod was always a thorough gentleman and I’m very sad he has left us so young.
