I’m so shocked and sorry to hear about Rod’s death. I knew Rod in the 80’s & 90’s and was so fond of his outgoing, positive and fun disposition. I bumped into him more recently and he talked so positively of Sheila and his boys. He certainly was the proud father and husband.

Deepest condolences to all the Campbell family on Rod's untimely passing. Great memories of hanging out with Rod in Willow Park and Cross Avenue back in the day. And in later years, it was always such a pleasure to meet with him in 'Proud Dad' mode at rugby matches in Rock and Donnybrook. May he rest well.

Really sad to hear the news about Rod. He was a couple of years ahead of me in ‘Knock and knew him mainly through my brother Colin…I always enjoyed meeting him and he was fun to be around. Sad to see him taken so early. Thoughts are with his family at this really tough time.

My Condolences to Rod's family and to those who will miss him dearly. Rod and I had
many interesting and fun times together looking back. We even won a talent competition in Malta in the 80s, singing songs we learned during the Castleknock days. We "Rod"-ified the words to suit the occasion and had the audience in stitches. Those were the days my friend!!

The saying, “What you see is what you get” is very appropriate to Rod. It encapsulated his straightforward approach to everyone and everything.

Rod had a warm smile that made him easy company in any company.

I, along with the class of ’83 of Castleknock College, had the privilege of sharing six years with Rod. We had many interesting and fun times.
He was so proud of Matthew and Lorcan and celebrated their numerous achievements. He constantly talked about you both, the amount of joy you brought into Rod and Sheila’s lives is immense.

Rod was a great friend and my condolences to Sheila, Matthew, Lorcan and the extended Campbell and Roantree families.
