Sadly missed , a good friend from the past .

Sociable and very companionable, Roger was also a very private person who never spoke much about himself or about the work he did in Uganda, The Gambia and Uzbekistan which improved the lives of many less fortunate. Roger read widely and was well informed on matters of politics and international affairs, he cared deeply about social equality and liked nothing better than to sit up all night discussing how to solve the problems of the world. I have no doubt he is advising St Peter on similar matters right now.

My sincere condolences to Rebecca and Charlotte, Arya and the extended family on the death of Roger. I am very sad to hear that Roger has passed away. I have lovely memories of Roger, of which I will cherish, when we were students together in RTC Galway. Roger was a very kind, generous and caring person, and it was a privilege for me to know him. Thank you for being my friend Roger.
