Sympathy to Roland’s family- I knew Roland back in the 70s when he lived in Ardenza Terrace monkstown - a mad house of artists musicians astrologers etc and he introduced me to Stockhausen, Mountain Kenya coffee from Bewleys (exotic back then!) and Finnegans Wake-a good combination- I still have a vivid memory of time spent together in his flat- I loved his warm eccentricity.

I loved hearing about your mushroom hunting adventures together - as many others have said Roland was a true gentleman and he will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing him. Deepest condolences to Roland’s family and friends. He was my lecturer in DIT and colleague in later years. He was a formidable scholar with high academic standards. I remember with fondness his passion and dedication to all things parasitology and entomology related.
