Our deepest sympathy to all the family on the passing of Bunty. We lived across the road from Hannah and Bunty on Patrick Street and they were such lovely, warm and kind neighbours, always so kind to the children.

Rest in Peace Bunty now with your lovely Hannah.
Janet & family, my deepest sympathy on the sad loss of your dad Bunty. Thinking of you all at this sad time. He will be truly missed. RIP
Bunty's was a regular stop on my mother's (Maureen Loughlin) shopping list in Dun Laoghaire. He was part of the fabric of the town and I always loved visiting his shop and the smell of the flowers which to me as a child, looked very exotic. With his death another piece of the history of the town is gone. May he rest in peace.
Im so sorry to hear of the loss of such a beautiful man. Out of the blue, he has been in my thoughts very strongly for the past number of weeks over December. Just now, I was on a FB site related to Dun Laoghaire , and there was a photo of DL from long ago. I asked if anybody knew who he might be, and was told. My Mother was Maeve Butler nee Waterhouse (who grew up in Killiney)and used to regularly drop into the shop to buy stuff, and also leave me with Bunty while she shopped about the town. I was about 4.(1964). To me he was magical: he sang, danced, laughed, jumped, skipped - played all sorts of games. He was kind, generous, welcoming. It is so strange that I only just remembered him, got his name (which I then googled) - and am now so sad to hear of his passing.Clearly, from reading the comments, he was so loved and led a long and happy and good life. Im pleased to at least be able to send this message to you, and to read about him - and how deeply he also affected so many others. Im 60 now - there are few folk in the world who have that magical, kind, wholesome, authentic, heart of gold - what a treasure. May he rest in peace, and my sincere condolences to all his family and friends .Pamela
Deepest sympathy to all the Connolly family on your great loss. Bunty was a true gentleman and helped me so many times when I had my flower shop in Dun Laoghaire many years ago. He is happily reunited with his darling Hannah. He will never be forgotten by the people of Dun Laoghaire. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Very fond memories of Bunty and Hannah, the shop was such a magical space I always knew as a child that it was great fun to visit the shop... Besides the flowers or spuds there was always an extra slice, a song, a poem a joke didn't matter it was fun.
I'm heartbroken for you Janet that you couldn't come home and so sorry for your loss Ron, Jan and Stephen
Janet, my sincere condolences to you and your brothers on Bunty's passing. I have fond memories of popping into see both your parents in the shop in Patrick's street as a child, it was always a place full of welcomes and laughter, and I was always thrilled when your dad gave us a lift to school in the trusty VW van on horribly wet winter days. May he rest in peace.
Sincere Sympathy to the Connelly Family. Very happy memories of the late Bunty. May he rest in peace.
So many memories and they all make me smile!
Many impromptu trips rattling around on the back of the van on the way to Wicklow to pick moss..or just for the craic!
His days were full of energy, living always at 90mph,
'swinging on a star', whether unloading the van after a market trip, greeting his customers or gobbling Molly's hot, buttered potatoes anxious to speed back to the shop. Whenever I detect the fragrance wafting from a florists I will remember you and all the family.
We will all miss you Bunty and treasure the memories.
Very happy memories of the late Bunty. My late father Michael Cooney. Lr George's St. had many a good laugh and chats together. Sincere sympathy to Buntys family.

Dearest Bunty, We will all miss you so much, our thoughts and prayers are with Ron, Janet, Stephen and your grand children.

A huge character, so full of life and love for the Soden family, a great story teller. Thankyou for all the wonderful memories; for visiting us in London, trips to the Wicklow mountains and the old Dublin market, for singing to us and the absolute joy you brought to our late mum, your very dear first cousin Anne Dixon.

We are all the richer for knowing and loving you...finally at peace with dear Hannah and all the others ... may you rest in eternal peace. Xx
Ronald, Janet and Stephen - Sincerest condolences on the loss of your dad. He had so much spirit and a love of life and nature, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Bunty would kidnap me and Andrew in the back of his van and we'd be gone for the day.. Down the old roads to Roundwood and beyond, picking moss and ferns for the shop and dropping into every 2nd house on the way. It didn't seem to matter if he knew the residents or not. He had that booming voice and charisma to charm people and invigorate them, he still had it when we visited him in Wexford and he was the in-house entertainment act with keyboard to accompany that voice. Resting in peace never suited Bunty.

Gareth, Andrew & Lily.
Joyful childhood memories of country drives with Bunty & Hannah in their Morris Minor. Trout fishing in the rivers of Wicklow. Bunty was my mother's brother. Remembering his wonderful and gentle soul.
Our sincere condolences to Ron, Janet, Stephen and your families on the death of Bunty. You are in our prayers during this sad time and we're sorry we can't be with you. With special love and hugs to Claire, Chloe and Alannah.
