Ronald (Ron) McPartland

I had the pleasure of meeting Ron for the first time in 2011. It was the 50th anniversary of his Air Corps ejection. At first he showed reluctance to assist in my research, but when I called to his house I couldn't ask for a more willing subject for my article. Thankfully he approved it and it has been rightly well circulated in newspapers and aviation publications to give him the rich recognition he rightly deserves for such an heroic act of getting out of a fast moving jet with no parachute training. Thankfully he survived many more fulfilled years since 1961. He was a total gentleman. My God rest Ron.

My sincere condolence to the McPartland family on hearing of the death of Ronnie. A former classmate of mine from Gormanston College. I also met up and had dealings with Ronnie when he set up his medical Company. A true friend and gentleman always. May he rest in peace.
