My heartfelt condolences to Alana, Killian, Ben and Lyla at this difficult time. Ronan was a pleasure to work with. Always in good humour, cracking jokes with his infectious laugh. I looked forward to our chats in the morning as I arrived to work. Often first hear his cheerful whistle in the car park as he was busy loading his van. Or I would see him sitting on his chair with his beaming smile while he awaited his work colleague on the mobile library. Ronan was the one person who saw ALL of our staff weekly on his deliveries not only transporting books but also news as they eagerly awaited his presence. In our lonely outposts he might be the only staff member our branch librarians would see for weeks. He was so obliging always at end of the phone ready to help.

We shared a passion for the outdoors, hiking in the Wicklow hills and he would introduce me to new routes or pass sound advice - different approaches to Mullaghcleevaun or Sorrel Hill. A person you could trust and rely on. A loyal colleague and a friend. I willl remember you when I walk the hills and valleys and cross the streams of Lacken, Wickla and beyond.

Ronan was a truly cherished member of Kildare Library Service, known and loved by colleagues in every library across the county. He was beloved by our mobile library patrons and the staff and students of primary schools the length and breadth of Kildare.
As our mobile library and delivery driver, he didn't just deliver books - he delivered warmth, kindness and a wonderful sense of humour that made everyone's day a little brighter.

His loss is deeply felt by all of us who had the privilege of working with him, as well as by the many people throughout Kildare who got to know him over the years.
He will always be remembered with great fondness, appreciation and a smile.

Thank you Ronan for being our colleague and our friend.
