I first met Ronnie last summer on a trip to Tipperary and I was shocked and saddened to hear of his recent passing.
Sending my sympathy and deepest condolences to Anne, Billy, Vincent and to the Muir and O’Halloran families and to Ronnie’s friends. He was a real gentleman with a kind heart and will be much missed.
I feel blessed to have met him and hope comfort is found in how much he was loved by so many.
May he rest in peace.

For as long as I can remember, Ronnie had a special connection to his roots and a profound interest in his heritage. His passion for tracing his family history reflected not only an intellectual curiosity but also a deep appreciation for the stories and legacies that shaped him.
That same curiosity was evident in how Ronnie engaged with people - whether that was with those he knew for a lifetime, only met occasionally or those he had just met for the first time. Ronnie always listened attentively to their story - perhaps so he could find resonance with his own, perhaps just to let them share or because he was far too kind not to. I'm sure some of those encounters brought great humour for him and Ronnie was also very appreciative of the warmth, joy and comedy that life offers.
Ronnie's unwavering kindness, gentle demeanour, and patient listening were a testament to the values that his parents Mary & Willie instilled in him but also to his own exceptional character and the spirit in which he engaged with life. Ronnie possessed an innate ability to make people feel heard and valued, always taking the time to engage in a genuine way regardless of the circumstance.
He had a lovely way about him and always seem to know where to apply comfort, comedy or just to quietly listen. The times he and I spoke over the years or when I saw him speak with others, gave a consistent impression of a fun-loving, intelligent, thoughtful and considerate gentle man who 'always charged your battery and never drained it' - I truly hope that his gentle soul is at peace.
Sincerest condolences to Anne and family, to Billy and Vincent and their families, to all the Muir and O'Halloran families, and to everyone who knew, loved and cherished Ronnie. I hope that as you navigate this difficult period, the memories of Ronnie provide solace and strength.
May his spirit continue to inspire you, and may you find comfort in the knowledge that he has left an indelible mark on the countless lives he touched and will be remembered with love and reverence by all of them.
Wishing you strength and comfort,
Donal
